L.A. is full of amazing museums with priceless masterpieces, but like every great city, she has her quirky side. Our list of obscure, funny, and interesting spots that are worth a visit (and return visits) has been shortened due to the global pandemic, but we have six spots around the city if you are looking for something different to do.

With strange things covering weird remedies, superstition, and strange interactive displays, this museum is worthy of visiting. Even though the collection doesn't change, you will want to go back and bring your friends to see this place where fiction mixes with science.

 

 

We are a convenience store for time travelers and the headquarters of Barnacle & Barnacle Publishers! Barnacle & Barnacle (B&B) is a publishing house that specializes in original student-authored books. The proceeds from the store goes to 826LA, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Los Angeles students with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.

 

 

Hollywood Forever is a full-service funeral home, crematory, cemetery, and cultural events center in the heart of Hollywood. One of the world’s most visited landmarks, Hollywood Forever is the final resting place of hundreds of Hollywood’s founders and stars, along with thousands of neighborhood residents and individuals from throughout the globe.

Located at the corner of Fifth and Spring streets in Downtown Los Angeles, this shop has become an international tourist draw. They don't just sell, buy, and trade second-hand books and records at The Last Bookstore. They've created an intriguing combination of quirky art and wide-ranging literature in a really unique space. They are located in a 100-year-old bank bulding, so they have vaults AND ghosts! (Plus, you can get married there!)

 

Small museum packed with artifacts recovered by the man rumored to be the real-life inspiration for Indiana Jones: Antonia F. Futterer. In 1926, his faith led to a number of expeditions to the Holy Land, culminating in a personal quest for the Golden Ark of the Covenant. Unlike the film hero, Futterer never found the Ark, but he did amass quite a collection of artifacts from Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Cyprus, and Palestine.
